Donald,

The market (big players) appear to be just treading water until the Greenspan news. It doesn't that they want to have big bets on either side of this market.

BWDIK,

Dave

I have TICK in an uptrend all the way from around 10 Eastern and then peaked somewhat at 11:30. In accordance with what you noted, the TICK moved down shortly after this increase in VIX. A pure guess is it is only taking a rest for another surge to the roughly 63ish level on the SPX.

The VIX change suggests to me the CBOE MM's are slapping on Premium to make everything expensive no matter what happens and they will strip it back off shortly after the announcement.

This of course is just a guess, and my bias late in the day would be relatively unchanged to down.

But admittedly anything can happen and usually does, does it not?
