DATA RACE(R) Announces
Additional Be There!(TM) Resellers

SAN ANTONIO, Sept. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- DATA RACE (Nasdaq: RACE - news) today
announced the signing of three new regional value added resellers for the Be There! Remote Access
System. BTI, a Chicago-based telephone equipment reseller; Central Business Communications
(CBC), a Midwestern telecommunications reseller representing NEC and others; and Right Systems
(RSI), who sells data communications equipment in the Northwest, have all recently signed reseller
agreements with DATA RACE for the award-winning Be There! system. These agreements create
new regional distribution for the complete Be There! product line. BTI, CBC, and Right Systems
have each installed Be There! for their own sales forces, and are providing these account executives
the same virtual office capabilities they now offer to their customers.

Be There! provides full access to the corporate office communications network from a remote office,
at home, or on the road. This Telepresence(TM) includes simultaneous telephone conversation,
faxes, corporate e-mail, and Internet access, and all the features of the office phone. Only a single
conventional telephone line is needed to connect, and calls to the office phone number ring
immediately at the remote PC.

BTI, based in Chicago, sells telecommunications equipment to the Midwestern region. Many BTI
employees do not come to the office each day because they now have all the power of the office
telephone, e-mail, and fax wherever they are. ''Be There! has increased the productivity of my
employees and the morale has never been higher,'' said Eric Brackett, President of BTI. ''This
system is simple to install and the learning curve is very low. We already know how to use our office
phone and network, and the Be There! system just marries the two on the computer screen.''

Central Business Communications carries a full line of telecommunications products for the
hospitality and legal markets, and is an NEC reseller. CBC joined the DATA RACE family through
a special program offered by DATA RACE for NEC resellers. CBC has installed Be There! for the
use of its own corporate and sales executives. Mark Lynn, President of Central Business
Communications, described how they have benefited using Be There! by saying, ''Now employees
at home or traveling can work remotely just like they are in the office. All office communications
come through the regular telephone line to the computer, including e-mail, fax, database applications,
and their own office phone.''

Those in the Northwest can now purchase Be There! through Right Systems, Inc., a respected data
communications value added reseller in Seattle, Spokane, and Boise. RSI markets to State and
Local government, as well as corporate customers. They have installed the system for usage by their
key executives. RSI has also given Be There! to one employee to enable him to stay at home with
his wife and new child. ''As a growing business, we can't afford to be without access to our key
employees. And as a reseller, it is a pleasure to believe in and utilize the technology we sell,'' stated
Timothy Pask, Vice President of Right Systems.

The remote work trend is growing, with over 13 million remote workers in the United States today.
Industry analysts predict over 20 million people will work away from the corporate office in the year
2000. Most companies have traveling professionals, including executives, sales people, technicians,
consultants and analysts. Call centers are also increasingly taking advantage of remote agents to
relieve overcrowded facilities and to better respond to peak workload hours. Remote agents also
allow call center managers to tap a new labor market. Many of these remote workers will work from
home or on the road, with only a single conventional telephone line. Be There! provides seamless
remote access to simultaneous voice and data anytime, anywhere.

''These new relationships give Be There! added presence in the Northwest and Midwest,'' stated
George Bennett, DATA RACE Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. ''The customer base
and excellent service capabilities of these resellers will allow us to reach a broader range of
customers who see the benefits of working remotely. And the addition of the Be There! system to
their product lines will allow these resellers to offer new leading edge technology to their customer
base.''

What about this, is this standard stuff that always appears in quarterly and annual reports?....

"the Company does not currently meet the Nasdaq National Market net tangible assets requirement..."
