What happened today?

My take is that a few eager analysts left the meeting way too soon and went out and reported drops in earnings for this year and next. At the time the stock was halted, the only news that greenline gave to me was that 1999 earnings were downgraded. Well that news was false, another bit of news came out on a financial radio station in Canada that earnings were to be effected by economic problems in Brazil. A lot of confusion out there, and I blame it on the eager analysts reporting incredulous statements. Passing blame onto to management is ridiculous, however, I would have locked the doors until the meeting ended. Now a long, long term holder.

I had previously thought that a possible earnings warning was already counted in the share price, and a earnings warning wasn't even issued today. Really strange goings on.

Analysts are becoming like the paparazzi (spelling?) of the financial world.
