MCI WorldCom Launches Second Major Initiative This Week
to Benefit Business

ATLANTA, Sept. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- In its second major product announcement this week, MCI WorldCom today launches
a new web-based, electronic procurement service for businesses. On Monday, MCI WorldCom unveiled On-Net, which
offers substantially lower rates to business customers that use the company's worldwide network for all local, long-distance,
voice and data services.

Today's announcement leverages the strengths of MCI WorldCom's UUNET WorldCom and MCI Systemhouse business
units. Organizations will be able to use the new web-based environment for lowering costs and improving operational
efficiencies relating to the buying and selling of goods. Business-to- business electronic commerce is one of the
highest-growth areas of the Internet, with transactions expected to exceed $300 billion by the year 2000.

Join MCI Systemhouse President and COO Scott Ross for the Wednesday, Sept. 30 teleconference, scheduled for 1 p.m.
EST. The call-in number is 888-414-9034 (passcode Network Enterprise). Journalists interested in participating are urged
to call in early.
