Why not send your concerns regarding this matter to Maxine Waters or Barbara Boxer or someone like that? She'll solve the problem and it'll only cost the taxpayers something like 18 billion dollars. They'll express their outrage at the Republicans << (and my guess is it was a mean spirited tact on the part of some parent to send their kid to school with peanuts).>> for allowing this to happen and probably attach it to legislation for Medicare! See how easy it is! No problemo!!!

<<I agree it is not an ideal solution but I want to hear from someone as to how to address the situation vs. the "thats dumb" response please.>>

There are a lot of people with serious, life-threatening allergies. For example, people allergic to bee or ant stings. I don't see that eradication of bee or ant colonies would be a realistic solution. Similarly, people that are so allergic to certain pollutants, for example cigarette smoke, would not be able to get all smoking banned for their benefit. In the cases of people with serious environmental allergies, the victim may need to be kept in a bubble.

My point is, the problem is not as widespread as you might believe. There is no need for the huge majority of students to suffer. It seems to me that the solution would be to have the student home schooled or tutored, rather than subject all the other students to draconian measures.

I guess I'm a little slow but how have people not been killed off for the last 100 years that peanut butter has been around? If you have an allergy, avoid it. Someone threatens you, go directly to a teacher. Whoever waved the offending sandwich should be severely punished.

Some people are allergic to eggs, should they be banned. Had an aunt with a poultry allergy. Strong perfume will drop me to my knees trying to breathe. Ban them all?

Wife and I live in the country. The wife is highly allergic to bees but she has 1/2 acre of flowers and is always out with her horses. When the bees are active she avoids going out.

To a lot of kids peanut butter is one of the healthier foods they eat.
