US mutual funds don't have to sell. Their prospecti state clearly that according to SEC rules they can distribute NAV "in kind", either in their own paper or hell knows what. They can also suspend withdrawals for up to two weeks. They can also require, without prior notice, that withdrawal requests be made in writing, by 1st class US mail, with signature guarrantee. They can also price NAV at their "best estimate" not market ...

Now you know why everybody and their mother in law wants to run mutual funds. -g-
