Big Dog & Slider,

There is a very nice closed end fund traded on the Naz, The Southeastern Thrift & Bank Fund (STBF). If you are not familiar with closed end funds they trade like stocks, at market value as opposed to NAV like open end funds. The attractive thing is that sometimes they trade at a discount to NAV which means you can buy $1 worth of assets for $.80-.90. I haven't check very recently but STBF was trading at about a 20% discount not too long ago. It's been taken down with the rest of that sector for no reason. Portfolio has performed very well the last few years, predominately invested in S&L in the Southeast with little or no international exposure. Check it out.

I've been lurking on this board for 3 or 4 months now trying to learn the sector. I'd like to thank all participants. This is a great board and has saved me an immeasurable amount of time trying to learn it all on my own. Have taken positions in RIG, FLC, VRC, VTS, & FGII. Very happy to be in somewhere near one of Sliders bottoms and looking forward to some healthy returns.

Big Dog your site is great. Thanks again everyone, I'll post again when I have something to contribute.

Cheers -

RC
