BellSouth! I just had a meeting that included three senior BellSouth managers today. It occurred to me, half way through the meeting, that these guys might know something about Portico (although this particular meeting had nothing to do with Portico). I wasn't under NDA and so they couldn't tell me a lot, but after the meeting I still learned something ... - They love Portico. Have evaluated all the competition and substitutions; Portico is the winner. The business guy in particular spoke glowingly about MagicTalk. - Q: When will they deploy it? (Yes, I asked this question, hoping for the quick kill). A: They weren't about to tell me. - However, they spoke enthusiastically how they are going to differentiate their Portico offering. Again, no details offered, but the gist of it was that they were going to use their pre-existing content and information services to bundle enhancements into their Portico brand, thus providing services that competitors couldn't easily match. All this was spoken of in the active sense. Not "if", but "this is what we are going to do". I came away convinced Portico will be offered by BellSouth soon, perhaps within a couple months. Sea Otter
