Brazil seen registering net dollar inflow Thursday

Reuters, Thursday, October 01, 1998 at 17:00

SAO PAULO, Oct 1 (Reuters) - Brazil was seen registering a
net inflow of dollars on Thursday for the first time in more
than a month as foreign telephone companies pay for
privatization purchases ahead of schedule, traders said.
"The market is estimating a net inflow because of the
advance payments on telecoms," one trader said. It would be the
first net inflow of dollars since August 26 when $327 million
entered the country.
Traders said it was too early to estimate how big the net
inflow could be.
