Jfred, The folks in the Santa Ana Canyon probably need those Humvees just to get out of their driveways during the winter storms. My friend with the gullwing roadster was a part-time security guard at the hospital I worked at then. His father (then deceased) had been a physician on staff there. As far as I know, he still has the roadster. I can't imagine him parting with it. He had other vintage cars, as well. He was among the more sympathetic people when my Cougar was stolen. He really understood. I am not sure why and it may be a case for the shrinks, but I am ever admiring of people who manage to maintain and preserve the artifacts of times gone by, be it furniture, houses, automobiles, whatever.
