I've heard people say linking to the dgiv thread was like shooting fish in a barrel, now I agree. The first letter makes a lot of sense.
But, one of the other regulars wants to try and discourage it (it's the answer to this first letter that I find amusing).

>>>I would like to make a serious proposal. I have been doing a little talking with a couple of trusted comrades... you know the kind of people I'm talking about... the kind that doesn't laugh at you when you bring up a bit of an idea? Right you two?
Anyway, it occurs to me that we really need to do some digging on DGIV... we need to analyze its roots, we need to find out its present financial condition and so much more! For example, Paul McGinnis asked an open-ended question about a merger with Ouzel - nobody answered that question. Why? I fear it is because not too many of us knew about Ouzel. To this point, we have not discussed much of this type of thing on any of the DGIV boards.
We all know that information on a non-reporting company is hard to come by... but, it is available. If you have any doubts, I would just refer you to the folks researching the MTEI fiasco after the fact. They have pulled out some unbelievable information - information that had it come out earlier would have saved a lot of people a lot of money.
I am not suggesting that DGIV is another MTEI... nor do I believe it is a scam in any form. I do know they have weaknesses... how significant are those weaknesses? I don't know. Are there strengths that we don't know about? Quite possibly.
What I am proposing is the formation of a dd task force... folks that would be willing to spend some time - and possibly a little money (for long distance and overseas phone calls?, etc.) to track down information that does not come out of the corporate office. I think SO much good could come of this effort!
I think we will need a fairly sizeable group to do a decent job in a short period of time. Part of my vision is that the collated information would then be freely available to everyone, whether they participated in the research effort or not.
Does this sound like something that we should pursue?
Does this sound like something in which you would want to participate? (The more the merrier)
You don't have to be an internet sleuth to help... just an interest and a commitment to the task.
If you are interested, please contact me via PM with your name (real one please), email address and phone number. I would also like to know if there are any particular topics that you think we should be pursuing.
I will be doing a bit of travelling (to Austin, TX) next week, so PM's work best for me right now. I will try to arrange for an email address in the near future that may be used by our lurkers to sign-on, if there still are any... LOL!
You know, I'm pretty excited about doing this. I know we can do a good job with it... we have already shown a predilection for gathering dd... and perhaps, by removing some of our areas of not knowing, we can reduce that risk I am so fond of talking about.
I'd like to get the ball rolling as soon as possible... hopefully next week some time.<<<<

>>>I don't understand the point of doing all that. It's not going to change the price of the stock. But don't let me rain on your parade. I luv ya anyway. It just sounded like an awful lot of work with no conceivable benefit....except for maybe helping people decide whether they want to buy more, hold, or sell. <<<<
