Elmer:

<<Max, I hate to break the news to you but the Alpha doesn't run the x86 instruction set. Also the 21264, just like the K7 is unavailable.>>

Just imagine the POWER of the Alpha, integer and floating point. Just imagine the Alpha can run X86, not under emulation. Now add those 2 images together and you have a K7. The K7 is the best of both world. Is it too good to be true? Well, IT IS TRUE. You will not be disappointed on Oct. 15. That is less than 2 weeks away.

Elmer,

Re.. "Alpha doesn't run the x86 instruction set. Also the 21264, just like the K7 is unavailable."

What is DEC's problem with alpha-21264? I thought that CPQ was advertising "buy" 533MHz alpha machine and upgrade to 21264 a while ago. Is this a vaporware?
