The latest on ORCL may not be so rosy . . .

dailynews.yahoo.com

Sounds to me like IFMX may have been cutting into ORCL's business. Does anyone think a price cut from ORCL will change that?

Mabye ORCL is under valued and PSFT more so. Or one is in a very mature marketplace and the other in a growing but competative one. Or maybe ORCL's new app server, web products, application tools, multi-platform hegemony gives them such a rosy future they should get MSFT's lofty 12 PSR. They sure are builidng a nice new virginia campus across the street from my office... Once upon a time I thought I understood some parts of this buisness, and I bought a small fortune in Informix stock...Now I am cautious. But getting on board the MSFT train even five years ago would have been really, really profitable. Who's to say today is any different, or that ORCL and PSFT are going to do as well... Good luck! Me, I think I'll buy some PSFT in about six weeks... but time will tell.
