Glenn,

Back in September you may have seen that I was actually concerned about William stating that he was buying back in on the basis of his confidence in the long-term fundamentals. I am not concerned about him anymore: I believe he is happy riding the manipulator's gravy train, and if you read between the lines of his posts he has the decency to at least hint that is what he is doing. Is he simpleminded that he cannot see the absurdity of the long-term FA argument? No, he is not. He is actually watching other things, as he made clear yesterday.

Or to put it in his own words to you,

>>Why not try betting it will go up (which is working). Either way you don't understand Amazon, but at least you'll be happier. :)

William is a very pleasant and civil poster, and I expect that he sees his own effect on this thread as completely neutral, even if he is pretending to be something he is not. Ironically, it may be those of us who have complete conviction in our bearish views who are responsible for the most damage to others, since we are in effect giving people reasons to go short in a rigged game. That is why I apologized if my posts had given others encouragement in their bearish views and led them to act on them to their loss.

The rules of the game have changed in part because of the internet, which provides apparent instant community. One can no longer be as sure of the meaning of what one is reading, or the consequences of what one is saying. I'm going to be much more careful, and I just want to warns others to be so too.
