I am sorry, but I just cant go along with that. Yes slavery was a reality, that doesnt mean that god should condone it and set up rules and circumstances that make it okay. I dont think god would do that, but man writing gods story may do that.

Murder, rape, thievery, and incest are all realities of life also, why doesnt god set up rules wherein those atrocities are condoned?

Why wouldnt god set up rules for that? they are no les repugnant and no less of a reality than slavery?

It is my opinion that god would not condone the act of slavery under any circumstance what so ever.....
