So let me get this straight: You think Starr initiated the Paula Jones lawsuit? Dude, Starr had never heard of Monica Lewinsky until Clinton lied about his involvement with her in that Jones suit, and Linda Tripp came forward with pretty convincing evidence that the President had perjured himself. Very penetrating and logical analysis there Dwight. How does when Starr heard of Monica Lewinsky have anything to do with his original involvement in the Paula Jones suit? Which preceded his appointment as special prosecutor, of course, much less any interest by him in Lewinsky, or even Lewinsky showing up at the White House. I don't know when Linda Tripp came forward to whom about what, but Linda Tripp, by all indications, is a trip unto herself. Would you care to comment on the sentence to sentence inconsistency in this little quote?"In fact, I had never even thought about the independent counsel in my wildest dreams. My idea was I'm going to arm myself with records so when I'm in a position to speak under oath, I can do so truthfully." Now, when was she planning to get herself in a position to testify under oath? There's Bilow's explanation, of course:I think it is obvious that Linda Tripp figured that eventually she would be talking to the Jones lawyers regarding the sexual harassment case. Much before she was called as a witness in the Jones suit. Why was she so sure she would be called to testify about her Lewinsky conversations unless she herself expected to have at least a hand in revealing the Lewinsky affair in the first place. (https://www.siliconinvestor.com/readmsg.aspx?msgid=5904153) Which in turn Bilow, to his credit, acknowledged:Hi dougjn; I think your analysis of the motives of Linda Tripp are accurate. (At least I hope that we'd all be thinking book deal.) (http://www.techstocks.com/~wsapi/investor/s-22539/reply-6901) Bilow then goes off on another attack track there, but never mind. Yes, I think Starr initiated, or played a role in initiating, the Paula Jones suit. His early involvement is fairly well established. You haven't presented any evidence to the contrary.
