Elio -

The ONLY way I know to uncover the shorts is for shareholders (especially the large ones who collectively "own" the float) to order their certificates and get physical possession. Otherwise all those shares that everybody "owns" can still be shorted against because they are still in the "street" name.

It's a lot easier than getting the SEC to do something (they ain't!).

You are going against one of the main rules of investing. I myself have been guilty of it in the past. My buying and selling in the last six months has been much improved and I always sell stocks now to lock in profits. It was an expensive lesson but I learned it last year and earlier this year in USXP. As the line from the movie, Wall Street, stated, "don't get emotional over stocks".
