Mr. Korn,

I do not know very much about SBC, but I would suspect that they had Newbridge switches in place even before this new contract. If I am wrong, someone please show me otherwise.

As far as Telekom SA, this is likely a very small ATM network, and the article says this is new infrastructure, implying that they did not have an ATM network beforehand.

My point still stands. I know of no service provider replacing their switches with Newbridge's or any other's. Once a provider decides on an ATM vendor, that is more or less permanent. The bigger the network, the harder to change vendors, and the more permanent the decision.

NN versus Ascend

I'm testing both off there carrier switches right now. The result on that is very clear and simple. NN lacks major performance and functions. They will never be able to compete with Ascend based on there existing System architecture. Even if i would get the NN products for free i would not use them in a ATM carrier network.
