Chuzz,

I was the one who remarked about PeopleSoft enhancing functionality while SAP cut prices. But I saw it the other way around in terms of cause and effect. PeopleSoft has been continually beefing up their functionality and, with Release 7.5, now has something that I think may be seen as a "SAP killer", at least in the financials area if not manufacturing. I don't know how worried SAP management is about PeopleSoft 7.5, but I believe their price cuts show at least some level of concern on their part.

In short, I think the price cuts are the response to, not the cause of, PeopleSoft's increased functionality and competitive position.
