PSFDT just had an unprecedented conference call 30 days ago. EXTREMELY UPBEAT...

They are now in the quiet period, with earnings to be release on or about 10/20 or 10/22.

I agree that it is a losing battle to fight the anal-ysts. And your comment about blaming the analysts - being one reason that small investors stay in poor stocks - is well taken. However, one needs to re-evaluate the stock prior to selling it and not sell into a crashing stock. I missed the downgrade announcement Friday and checked my stocks from work. Boy was I surprised when I saw PSFT down 9 points. Now I could have panicked and sold right then and there, thinking the stock would spiral into nothingness. Or I could realize that the bulk of the damage for the day was done and that I'd be better off researching the stock over the weekend. After doing some research, I've decided to go long on PSFT despite Oracle's announcement of pricing pressures.

Seeing something like this happen sure sobers me up to the realities of option trading. I was seriously thinking of loading up on some Oct Calls. I saw two option investor newsletters recommend PSFT as a great Call play.

Nothing against the anal-ysts,
Jon
