The U S highway system was great in it"s day but was surpassed by the Interstate. Even at rush hour most of the volume is on I-# and not on U S #, so take your pick. Currently big bandwidth ought to win and for the majority of consumers that's cable. The big dollar question is whether that will be what drives business to cable or will they stick with ADSL. You're good at soliciting lots of input online perhaps a poll of users would be appropriate. Since this is the LSI thread, will it make a difference to this company? thanks in advance for your thoughts. good investing, lnk

Is LSI into the low end of the DVD, like PC stuff? I think that segment is going to take off like crazy.

Shane, I had cable modem service at $40 a month and loved it. Then I moved across the county line and got a different cable TV company so couldn't get cable internet access anymore. Then I got a new computer and am now using V.90 modem access at $15 a month. Cable modem is definitely a winner, but even if it were offered in my area again I'd probably decline. At non-peak times, the V.90 service is really not that bad. The best thing about cable modem was being on the phone with someone and looking up stuff on the internet at the same time with almost instantaneous download. Well, if LSI ever gets back to break-even for me, maybe I can get cable modem again! I don't think the consumer has a clue about DSL, so cable will win out big time in households. Don't know about businesses.
