Their [Newbridge's] most successful ATM product, the 36170, is more than four years old and the 36170's they are selling today have not changed much in those four years.

Actually, the 36170, Version 3.1,was recently released. In the last conference call, NN said it was experiencing double digit sales growth for this product. A Version 4.0 and a 36177 are on the way.

Their newest products, the VIVID switches, have not been selling, and for good reason--they are intensely buggy and unreliable

Where do I recall reading about buggy and unreliable products before? I thought it was on this thread less than a year ago. Comments like that, fortunately, didn't stop me from investing in ASND then. Based on the due diligence I've performed and am continuing to perform, such comments would not stop me from investing in NN now.

ASND is a good company, no question about it. But it might be worth looking into the full panoply of NN's new products -- including recent ATM enhancements, DWDM and LMDS wireless -- to better assess the latter's prospects. Things do change. (It was precisely this change from RAS/RAC to ATM that reinforced my interest in ASND, as some here will recall.)
