Zoltan, the key question is whether Clinton's numbers will reverse or not, and Field concludes that there are "no signs of reversal." I think he's full of it on this, and I would wager that the President's numbers bounce back up again before November. His numbers has reacted naturally to the events around him; every release of info brings a downturn, the inevitable pratfall by Congress or Starr brings an uptick. I am confident that my speculation is just as informed as Field's. I'm not sure where you're living, but around where I am there are two general reactions: (1) interest in the gossipy aspects of this and (2) total lack of interest in the politics of this. That bodes ill for Congressional efforts to impeach because the gossipy aspects of this are about split evenly between Republicans and Democrats. Time will tell.

I was interested to see that the GOP "prosecutor" pulled out an "oldie but a goody" to charge the President with--Misprison. Is the GOP so inept not to see that they are better off with two clearcut charges against Clinton rather than 15 different and sundry complaints that make them look like bean-counting prudes?
