as far as I recall, IDTI made a deal with Nippon Steel including a license to build and sell the IDT Risc processor products. Next the Nips as could be expected tried to buy market share by bombing the prices world wide and loosing their shirt in the process. Understand that NipS is now wisely exiting semis by selling it all to extremely aggressive power-house UMC... Who knows more and could add some comments?
