>Yhoo and Amzn used to be a tech stocks.. Now they have them in the >blue chip sector.

Actually, AMZN and YHOO are in a sector by themselves. All the blue chips and major tech stocks have seen 50% declines, while Amazon and Yahoo have both tripled this year.

It certainly isnt for their astounding profit potential, as we all know Amazon has no hope for profits (except for insiders) until the year 2002, at best. Big names like Cisco are being taken outside and shot because analysts hint they might not make as many hundreds of millions of dollars in profit as they thought, maybe $100,000 less.

And yet, Amazon shows rapidly widening losses, a marketshare that has dropped from 95 percent to 60 percent in SIX MONTHS, and the market reacts by tripling their stock? I dont think so. There is only one thing holding this stock up, and his name is Vinik.

And if you want to know the future- here it is. Vinik knows the Yahoo results are going to be well above "expectations." (even though those expectations have been lowered on purpose so they can be beat- in fact can you name a single internet company besides netscape that has EVER had a quarter where they didn't 'beat' expectations? the answer is no, because all the companies know how to play this scam)

With Vinik knowing Yahoo may likely explode after announcing a slightly larger than expected profit, he knows Amazon will follow suit- and if not he'll throw in some buys to scare the shorts into MAKING it follow. This will be his exit window. After Yahoo's earnings but BEFORE Amazon's disappointing earnings. So he has a window of roughly 2 weeks to sell. And sell he will- he now knows that the Junglee/Planetall guys are going to be dumping 3 million shares very soon, and he doesnt want to compete with them if he doesnt have to.

So, look for a rally tomorrow and Wednesday and Thursday, then look out below. The game is over, and everyone knows it, we're just waiting for the final score to be posted at the endzone.

I still think we have to be careful.

James,

I am being very careful. My comment about not understanding the "thing" was not meant as a joke.

I was very impressed that William told us he was out. Only because I respect his
intelligence and TomD too.

William reads the market well. I am sure Tom D does too he is just not on the thread as often. Both like the the future of the "thing." They must have their reasons. I cannot make the assumption I know more than all. Therefore, care is in place although I am dying to tell William I told you so. Although, not if he lost money. I doubt he will. He is carefull too.

Glenn

>>there is something holding it up and I can't understand it.

The behavior may be difficult to understand, but it does not seem difficult to characterize. Maybe Rob S. or someone more versed in TA can pin it down exactly for us.

Key points today for the NZMA/DJIA tag team were 1:20 low, 2:50 volume push, and 3:50 high. (times appox.)

For the past few weeks, NZMA has tracked the DJIA in lockstep with a bias to the upside. Today NZMA held up almost as well as the DJIA, but not quite. It is amazing that there is almost no noise in this behavior, as if there were no discrete decision makers following any other influences than the DJIA.

YHOO earnings could cause the two to decouple from the DJIA, but I am guessing that the DJIA effect will be borne out as the stronger one. Any rallies there will have a miraculous uplifting effect, which will be attributed to the latest puff piece in the news. And, conversely, a DJIA breakdown will probably mean the latest short squeeze party is over. Then those brown chips will be more easily distinguished from the blue ones! JMHO
