Barry - Re: " What might happen with a little positive news? Nothing? or ??"

If AMD has a "little" positive news tomorrow, expect a $5 run up in their stock price.

If Intel has a little positive news, expect a BLAST from Kurlak explaining that Intel is headed for the bit bucket.

I hope Kurlak owns a ton of Merrill Lynch stock that he bought about 3 months ago !

FEATURE-China shops for high-tech toys

"
''We've been able to stay flat in the region as a result of the counterbalance of those various forces,'' said James Jarrett, president of Intel China.

While China's slowing economic growth -- a result of the Asian financial crisis -- has pinched car makers to beer makers, information technology spending is set to grow at an eye-popping 27.6 percent a year, according to tech market research firm International Data Corp (IDC)."

What's wrong with an n of 3 or 4 ???

An n of 3 or 4 administrative assistants of some MIS directors who have better things to do than fill out a survey from some company that sends them an annoying survey every quarter ... with stupid questions that require consultation from the CFO to answer accurately??? Sounds significant to me.

Scenario One...

"Pat, would you fill that stupid survey out for me?"

"Karen, I am only a temp, I do not know the answers to these questions?"

"Pat, just fill in anything...I can't be bothered by these stupid surveys every quarter."

...Or, does it go something like this?

Dialing...
... "Yeah, Jim? This is Karen."

"Karen, how is the Y2K update report for the Board doing?"

"Almost done Jim, but I have to put it on the back burner in order to fill out this Cowen survey (or at least they used to be Cowen...now they have some initials in front ... whatever). I know the Board meeting is tomorrow. Perhaps we can call the eight members and reschedule the meeting for, say, next week?"

"Certainly, Karen. I know that two of the members planned vacations for next week, but I am sure they will understand. This IS the Cowen survey, after all. I'll set aside four hours in the afternoon to nail this one down. Thanks for the heads-up, Karen."

"Thanks, Jim."

>To base conclusions on such a small sample

indeed. The impeachment is even MORE ludicrous.
