bp,

That is hysterically funny! Have you considered giving up your day job?Who knows, maybe Leno and Letterman are still watching us Boinkers.

When one owns a house, hedge fund takes on a whole new meaning and becomes one with growth fund and all kinds of new budget categories. Do you recall the comedian Alan King's hilarious book, "Anyone Who Owns His Own Home Deserves It?"

Telecommuting makes for the best of all possible worlds. You should see my dress-for-success look! Then again, maybe you shouldn't. <g>

I am ever amazed that more companies in this high-tech enclave in the Land of Eternal Gridlock do not institute telecommuting. One reason I've heard is that managers, particularly middle managers, want and need to have something on site to manage. Another holdover from the corporate dark ages is the belief if you are not being supervised you are not working.

I do not work for any one company and have not for quite some time. I subcontract from various companies, none of which is located anywhere near the SF Bay Area. As such, I do not have to reside in the SF Bay Area to do the work that I do.

BTW, SI's spellchecker lights up "telecommuting" and its variations.
