Harry,

I believe the loss of orders to Airbus was significantly due to Boeing's production problems. The production problems were a major factor in BA reporting a loss for the year.

Increased orders and a return to profits is directly tied to BA solving their production problems and lack of efficiency. Boeing's management has now indicated they will boosts output and that their production woes are over. However, judging by todays anemic stock price it looks like the Street is still skeptical.
