It was not all bad, the cost plus contracts were fun. When I was a kid I did some flying. Ditched a single engine in a corn field and scared the h**l out of me. Corn fields make good runways - when the farmer has planted the rows straight and picked all the rocks. <ggg>

Looks like we have lots in common, including a love of the Wright Brothers' wondrous conveyance....,

Earlie, I'am sure you have been to the Wright Brothers Museum in Kitty Hawk. Lots of great historical memorabilia. You gather around a beautiful replica of the Wright Flyer for a lecture by a park ranger. In the distance, thru large windows, you see 4 big rocks with large painted numbers marking the landing places of the first four flights. Highly recommended.
