Why don't you ask the same question about IBM? IBM hard drives are in several boxmaker's configurations. Same with NEC monitors. Boxmakers don't see to have a problem with buying anything from each other. And...Sony's invention, the 3.5 inch floppy drive, is IN EVERY MANUFACTURER'S COMPUTERS ALREADY. Computer makers don't seem to have a problem installing Sony drives in their computers.
