the v-commerce PR is interesting but doesn't really announce anything that most of the companies mentioned aren't doing bits of anyway. Note that General Magic is actually cited as one of the Nuance customers 'using v-commerce' - why not in the alliance though? My reading (optimistic, long) is that General Magic will be one of the alliance members to be announced 'in the coming weeks' - this will be timed to suit a related General magic/encanto announcement. Anyhow I don't think you will see GMGC 'out of the loop' on anything major that Nuance is up to - Portico represents one of the largest Nuance-based networks...

V-commerce announcment. I'd put close to zero weight on this. These announcements come and go, and my experience is that they don't mean a lot until product/services actually get offered. To the degree it means anything, I think it is a positive. Just generally raises the tide of awareness relative to voice/commerce etc. GMGC will benefit from this slight increase in awareness ... Closer to home, anyone have any feeling about the Nasdaq? Broad market and techs looking wobbly, how will GMGC fare if the market takes another big punch? Sea Otter
