I mean off the hook for crimes.... hes still on the hook for being a sex symbol (the crime of passion that is).....

Yes, the Teamsters were the token Republican Union until Ron Carey was elected in 1991. Carey's had his problems, but I don't think he was supposed to have mob ties like the Hoffa/ Fitzsimmons/ Presser crowd that was solidly Republican. They'll be pro-Republican again soon enough, and I'm sure they'll reestablish their mob ties too.
