Profits Re:Your beloved Intel is now in a major battle. Goliath may be big, but he will fall hard.

I hate to rain on your fine parade, but consider the following:

Intel released the new Celeron and the PII 450 late in the Qtr. Intel essentially gave AMD one last hurrah before they send AMD underground. One penny, and you guys celebrate. But hey, I understand sometimes you gotta take what you can get.

Profits,

Goliath may be big, but he will fall hard.

Wow, AMD posts a profit and now people are already predicting the death of Intel.

Unless Intel disappoints in the Q3 earnings announcement (and there is no sign that Intel will, even after the preannouncement and the rise in estimates), there is no way on Earth that Intel is just going to keel over and wither away.

Your beloved Intel is now in a major battle.

I think Intel already entrenched themselves for a major battle long before AMD even hoped for a profit. Today was AMD's win, but it sure wasn't Intel's loss, although Wall Street might think so for a while.

Goliath may land on David.

That penny profit sure has gone to your head.

Then again, that penny profit is a rare event, indeed.

<<<Everyone knows that distributor inventory does not count as SALES>>>

I would not be so confident with that remark.
