Paul,

I don't know if we are headed into a deep recession or not but we have certainly come a long way since Clinton's forecast last year that the asian crisis would turn out to be merely a "bump in the road". It is also somewhat ironic that we are facing a worldwide recession in the middle of a "technological" revolution and quantum improvements in productivity.

regards

G'day all - dear Paul, I'd not even thought of it [re: Donald keeping mum on HKMA on the News Hour.] However, the overall setup of the o-table didn't seem to suggest they were invited to talk about their individual issues. Rather, I got the impression that it is thematic to global solidarity and with the subplot of who haven't been doing their shares [Japan and Europe.] So, I am not sure there was any premeditation on HKMA should be off the table.

best, Bosco
