You are definitely on the right track. The PE does not matter much IMO, in this case. What matters is to put your bet on the last man standing. And this is decided more by the financial strength, barriers to entry, and the product line than anything else. Another thing to keep in mind is the time horizon. How long do you think the bleeding will last and how long are you willing to hold on to a bleeding position. I'm all ears as to what you think is a good buy and how it should be played.
