Now they have a ton more competition (though nobody knows exactly how much), and big telecom companies think they can do more themselves to save costs. Plus, CIENA is not getting the quantity of orders it wants because too many telecom companies are dragging their butts about creating the networks. Aggravating all this is economic slowdown. Telecom companies are less included to invest in new technology if they think we will have global recession.... That's just the gist of it. joe
