<<At least at these levels you cannot go too far south with a good winter coming.>>

Don't kid yourself. The market sentiment has taken all buyers out of the picture for now. Perhaps they will come back soon, perhaps not. In the meantime, this sector will get washed out again with the broad market as long as there are any sellers. It doesn't make much difference that these stocks have already gotten hammered.

As for the winter, if this sector makes new lows, it will come much sooner than any winter effect (probably in a day or two). The only thing that can temporarily save this sector now is news relating to the crude supply.

Does any one care to comment on the fact that several large block trades (sells) have been occurring lately? Lehman Bros, Smith Barney, etc are dumping these stocks in a big way - why now? are they trying to hold on to whatever gains they have for the year because they need to show some profits, maybe putting their money to work somewhere else (bonds? hedge-funds?) or do they know something more - worse news than we can imagine about this sector?
I'd really like to know because I ammore nervous these last few days than ever before.
