This is interesting news. One concern that I have with it though is that the date of the report is Sept.19,1997. How effective are they in enforcing their decisions???

Mark

I didn't see Valmer or SA on the list?

I have been a shareholder of TGSK/JAWS, in and out several times during the last 6 months. Currently out.

Your statement that Velmer and S/A Advisory aren't so clean appears to refer to the Yahoo link that you cited. Your statement is curious, because the link is a list of investment advisors who are no longer registered only because of a change in the law. According to the SEC notice:

"On October 11, 1996, President Clinton signed into law the National Securities Markets Improvement Act of 1996 ("Improvement Act"). 1 Title III of the Improvement Act, the Investment Advisers Supervision Coordination Act ("Coordination Act"), amended the Advisers Act to reallocate federal and state responsibilities for the regulation of the approximately 23,350 investment advisers registered with the Commission at the time the legislation was signed. Under new section 203A(a) of the Advisers Act, 2 an investment adviser that is regulated or required to be regulated as an investment adviser in the state in which it maintains its principal office and place of business is prohibited from registering with the Commission unless the adviser (i) has assets under management of not less than $25(or such higher amount as the Commission, by rule, deems appropriate), or (ii)an adviser to an investment company registered under the Investment Company Act of 1940."

Apparently Mr. Velmer's registration was cancelled because he either does not manage sufficient assets to qualify, and does not act as adviser to an investment company registered under the Investment Company Act.

I do not see what this has to do with the cleanliness of Mr. Velmer or SA Advisory.

I do read this board regularly, but have not posted until now. I hope that this post will clear up any misconceptions that may have been created by post number 3106.
