Scott,

I have an Obsidian X24 and I bought a TnT because it had better color depth and could run 3d apps in a window. I am happy with my Voodoo2 SLI solution but the TnT still has some advantages over it.
I can look at games in higher resolution then 1024*768 and in some cases play them. I can also see if 16 bit color versus 24 bit color makes a noticeable difference. I have not played enough with it yet to notice one way or another. On most games I am sure I will use the Obsidian card, on others that have a greater color depth or that can run in a higher resolution with an acceptable frame rate I will use the TnT. I do not believe that buying a TnT mean I am throwing away my Obsidian, I see them as complementary.

If I had only 1 Voodoo2 I might still buy the TnT instead of another Voodoo2. Adding a second Voodoo2 gives me a higher resolution, the fastest FPS solution and uses another PCI slot. Replacing my 2d card with TnT gives me a couple of more resolutions, somewhat better image quality and I do not lose any more PCI slots. To me the decision provided you have a 400 mhz or higher computer is not so black and white, it all depends on what is important to you. For category 1, Chip's hardcore gamer they should add a second Voodoo2. For the category 2 person, image quality and higher resolutions may be more important then raw speed.

I really wish there was an affordable $300 - $350 one card Voodoo2 SLI solution. I think some of the people who would like to do SLI won't because they do not have the spare PCI slots.
