Comments about the October Investor's World

JD pointed out that he pulled his subscribers out of Japan the year before the Japanese market tanked. This seemed like a proud statement. But, in my mind, it points out that he , at least then, felt that an advisor had a responsibility to subscribers to keep them out of harm's way at a bubble top. He certainly hasn't done anything to advise caution at the European and US 1998 bubble top. His timing on all his October buy recommendations couldn't have come at a worst time.

Ralph, there were a lot of people in the US who were really well off during the Great Depression because they recognized the 1929 bubble top and got out of equities before the crash, and did not buy "bargains" as the market fell.

JFK's father made his fortune in the Depression by getting into bootlegging in a big way. Unfortunately, Prohibition was repealed, so that option is closed to us for the time being. And they say competition is fierce in the dope-dealing profession, so what are our choices now that stocks don't look so good?
