$20 stock.

As you know ODIS has a deal with MSFT such that MSFT SPs will point to Objectstore if the client needs what the SPs perceive is the appropriate solution. Obviously MSFT SPs aren't going to encourage. The impetus must come from the client. There are many programmers within the company and outside under MSFT certification who know the value of Objectstore. The problem is that there isn't the corporate demand for it so that both companies benefit. The programmers who push the object solution almost always go with Objectstore, but their entreaties fall on deaf ears. The same is true in the Pure Java camp at SUNW.

ODIS has put in place a vast structure of presence to benefit if significant demand ever arises. They collect big time if the avalanche begins, but they have never seeded any clouds. It is the polite society way to market. I believe in a little arm twisting to get the ball out of the gate. Once it's rolling you get avalanche. In fact, MIS has to be at least have a contingency plan where they can come up to steam quickly if there is a sudden recognition of the pervasive need for OODB. Without that they may find themselves behind and scrambling.

XML and Java are slowly preparing the way for the ball to reach critical mass, a mass large enough to start rolling against attitude resistance. IBM is a big fan of Java as is SUNW. Somewhere in all that lies hope, but it will take time.
