With the market as unstable as it is, and the luck Compaq stockholders have had over the last year, I wouldn't be surprised if the company announces a .40 cent gain and we dropped a few more points!

Pfeiffer is responding to El's whine. "Why cpq is not saying something
to prop price......?" Heh heh heh.

He can mention future business or this qr's market condition, not last
one. In fact, last qr's earnings is already history. So not many are
interested in it, but many would like to know for this qr and future
condition. We are heading to xmas season and US dollar is weak which
is good for overseas' business.

Eddie -
Aren't they in the quiet period though?
yes - but I realized last night that I had not heard any of the usual end of quarter scramble from any of my field sales buddies. Add that to shortages at distributors, low inventories and full-bore 3 shift mfg, looks like the engine is running again. But I'll stick with my estimate for now.
