"Many companies are highly successful by overcharging the public..."

Then you cite GM. Well let me remind you that GM and Ford and Chrysler were the cartels of the auto industry in the 60's. They manufactured cars with built-in obsolescence. Most Americans had to junk their clunkers every four years or spend a fortune on repairs. There were no seat belts and no innovation. Then along came the Japanese with inexpensive cars that were better built. Monopoly was the worst of times for America. Just the arrogance and stupidity shown here by the Intel zealots was rampant then.

If you look at the auto industry today you will find employment is a fraction of what it was in the 60's. Those little AMD's and Cyrix's nipping at the heels of ole monopolist Intel today were just like the Japanese Hondas, Toyota's, and VW's nipping at the heels of GM in the 60's.(You should be happy they are still American companies nipping.)

When Intel was Pentium king we got $750 chips. Now we get $150 chips. I'd say that is the way it should be.

I don't begrudge a corporation tripling its manufacturing costs to sell into distribution but a monopoly like Intel ripping off the consumer in order to build its monopoly empire deserves to get what its got coming.

And believe me, if you hold this stock into a recession, you can join Engel in the movie, "I was a paper millionaire --- before the crash."
