The MXi uses the Cayenne core, not the MII core.

It was my understanding that the Cayenne core was at least "tweaked" recently. This would also explain why heat was not originally considered a problem with the MXi, but it is now. By "tweaking" the chip to raise clock rates, you get more heat. All of this is in agreement with NSM's desire to produce the MXi on .18 and not .25.
