To all. I got a response back from Royal Bank Action Direct. I have found somebody who not only "listens but understands"!! He agrees that the "process" has to be speeded up and that there are some "low level things" they can do without disrupting the bueacracy(sp)

The first is that their "NetAction" which is an internet based trading facility has had some significant softare improvements in the last month. They say they are presently executing trades in less than 1 minute!! The last time I used it, it was 14 minutes.

Second, they are intending on getting NetAction down to 15-30 second trades!! I will "wait till I see it". There target is the end of this year to achieve this. I asked about "loading" and they won't know the answer to that until a "market load" occurs!!

So I will try this facility and get back to all!

Keith,

Can you inform us of your choice, as well as the reasoning behind said choice. I presently have an account with BMO for my Canadian mid-long term stocks.

However, for the reasons you mentioned earlier I only daytrade/momentum trade US stocks. I use Daytek for the latter. Quite happy with their services. Execution is incredibly fast compared to all the major Canadian discount brokers. However, they kind'a have a sloppy bookkeeping division. I guess you can't have it all, can you?

Would really appreciate it!

Have any of you tried trading direct:
tradingdirect.com

Prices seem reasonable! How's the service?

Thanks to Keith, Dennis and all those who contribute to this thread.
I can honestly say that this has become one of the most informative SI forums.
Keep up the great job!!

Happy Trading

While doing you research, (fear of sounding like some
old school marm), your most important factor for day
trading is execution. Don't worry about saving a few bucks
if they can't execute the trade in a timely manner, you
might save $30-$50 just to loose maybe a couple of hundred
and maybe a couple of grand on some of those good trades!
Research, it is well worth it. Good Luck.

Best Regards
