Veal and lamb are delicious. You should try them sometime. And when you get sick and need a drug, remember you will live because of the wonderful work our scientists did testing on those chimps.

J,

>>(for some reason, it wouldn't bother me as much to test on fish or maybe fowl)<<

Hmmm, are you saying that some animals are more equal than others?

Off Topic: Animal Cruelty.

<< ... but my internal compass tells me that if I couldn't justify someone doing it to me, I shouldn't justify doing it to them. >>

It is refreshing to read your note.

The use of rodents or feed animals for medical testing doesn't bother me as much as using animals of higher intelligence, such as chimps.

Since I value a chimps life much more than I value an unborn fetus, I can't understand the usual conservative view on animal testing.

Our scientists could probably come up with testing methods and innovations that could bypass the testing on dogs, cats, chimps, etc. But, since cruelty to animals is an accepted sport for our scientists and product testers, they don't bother to find a more humane method.

<< Yes, I am one of those compassionate conservatives that actually checks to make sure that products I buy are not animal tested. >>

How do you know if a product is animal tested?

Regards fellow conservative, Bob
