Brees, you say that this board has been straying from its primary topic, which, in your view, should be whether or not to support Bill Clinton. That description probably fits the Corruption thread. But the purpose of this thread was outlined differently in the founding post:

The purpose of this thread is to make a SANITY CHECK on the Clinton-Lewinsky affair. It is to discuss the opportunity costs that our world and nation expends by devoting its
productive and emotional energies to a sex scandal.

Five questions:

How does Canada, France, Russia, Japan, India, UK, Brazil, Mexico and Iraq perceive
us now that we've obsessed over this matter for 7 months?

Are we a RICHER or a POORER nation because of it?

Would we be a RICHER or a POORER nation if we now moved on to the REALLY BIG
PROBLEMS facing our world?

In TWENTY YEARS will we regret that we didn't use our time more productively?

Has it driven our nation apart? And is this a good thing?

In my opinion, we have not even begun to address the questions raised in this post. Perhaps it is time we did! And there are many other questions related to this whole mess that are certainly worth exploring.
