About sell/buy - check the daily activity or intraday chart and see if the trade is an uptick or downtick.

About HiFD vs Zip200 (assume it will be available soon).
Pro for Zip
-- Zip has 15+ million installed base but this also point out that there is strong resistance to prevent Zip become the next floppy standard. There are 70+ millions PC sold every year and less than 1/5 willing to use Zip.
-- no internal HiFD until next year Q1.
-- zip has established relationship with major box makers.

Pro for Sony
-- Zip is not backward compatible. C'mon IOMers, if backward compatible is not important, we won't see every PC shipped with a 1.44MB floppy today.
-- HiFD alliance has stronger OEM relationship than Iomega.
-- HiFD is a single drive solution.

Pro for IOM
-- I think $3.00 is a fair value for IOM. If Zip really fail, the sales of Zip media to existing customer will be enough to keep IOM profitable for a while (assume mgt will take appropriate action reduce operation expense). Although I have little faith that IOM will go up significantly from current price.

Also keep an eye on LS-120. Current Floptical technology has the potential to go up to 300MB and significant improvement in speed. If my memory is correct, Panasonic is working on this but nothing materialize yet. IMO, the biggest barrier for LS-120 is not the Zip, it is long promise of HiFD. LS-120 will have no chance until HiFD is proven death.
