OT RE: The Man Roosevelt and his words.

Barry, you are almost too young to have known the man, but I remember him well -- I saw him in the flesh and on film, heard him live and on radio. His high, patrician voice cutting through the noise put iron in the spine and fire in the brain of one small poor, sick boy.

"Let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself." I still believe that today.

"In the field of world policy; I would dedicate this nation to to the policy of the good neighbor." I still believe that today.

"When peace has been broken anywhere, the peace of all countries everywhere is in danger." I still believe that today.

"In the future days which we seek to make secure, we look forward to a world founded upon four essential freedoms.
The first is freedom of speech and expression -- every where in the world.
The second is freedom of every person to worship God in his own way -- everywhere in the world.
The third is freedom from want...
The fourth is freedom from fear. "
I still believe these things today.
