Gary, Message 5982254
I will take this call as semi-contrarian- I was convinced in your logic w/CPQ Isn't lutz now with NN from CPQ? How strongly do you feel for anyone but ASND getting the nod from LU. In the short term (2 yrs) there is enough to go around, I don't think enough has been said about what MR. Ejabat really desires from an aquiring company. It aint just money!!!! I've read countless times about LU having a billion in cash- BFD- so does ASND, at a discount cap - p/e., SRA a plus yet to be integrated into the core ASND equip, oh yeah .... not the money he wants a position of power to be a part of "The New Public Network" it's Pride w/a capital P. I read an article about one of the originals at ASND doing private VC from his place in CO. and the zest/drive that must still be a vision in the boardroom.
Good to see ya back, I still have those overheads from the conference you went to Thanks again

DHB

Gary, re: an LU acquisition of NN. What implications do the following issues have?

1) LU has internally developed DWDM technology that is at or near leadership status.
2) LU is a leader in wireless technology; albiet not LMDS; but the technological prowess exists internally.
3) NN's current close association with Siemens.

Thanks.

Gary, I came up with those great names some time ago. Ascent Communications. Would be one hell of a waste of paper, shredding all the old ASND and LU letterhead.
